The role of women in the field of professional transfers

Over time and as allies of companies that move their human talent internationally, It has been gratifying to see women increasingly taking on very important roles within multinational corporations and being taken into account for high-ranking positions within companies.
In 2019, for example, we found that 566,514 foreign women migrated to Colombia (Datosmacro, 2020) and many of them with the great mission of leading large companies that contribute to the development and progress of Colombia.
Within our experience we have also been able to appreciate the difference between moving men versus women due to roles within the home especially when they are married and with children. The family is the main objective to be taken into account when it comes to transferring a person and especially women who are the most involved in this sense despite the fact that today men have taken more prominence within the home.
Transferred women have been able to demonstrate that they can live in another country by contributing 100% to the company’s activities, as well as within their home meeting their expectations in both areas. The companies have understood that there is no gender difference in terms of transferring one of their collaborators so the volume of women in the world of transferees is increasing.
We hope that these changes will continue with the passing of time, where gender equality in the field of work was fully achieved and all together as human beings we continue to work for a better country and a better planet.
